Join us for a crash course into the world of lobbying and advocating for a cause!

While the Texas Legislature is currently in its 87th session (and only meets 4.5 months every two years) have you ever wondered how you can effect real change during this brief time?

During this informational session, we’ll teach you:

  1. The 10 best tips on what to do during a meeting with a legislator and/or an important decision-maker.
  2. Finding what motivates and moves you, and how to be a champion for a cause.
  3. How to set up an appointment with the offices of lawmakers and legislators, which is now particularly interesting given virtual meetings are occurring.
  4. The difference between a lobbyist and an advocate. Where do you fall?

Maybe you’re a casual change maker, or perhaps you’re finally ready to make some big waves? Either way, you are welcome to join us at this informational session.

Learn how to use and lift the power of your voice to lobby and advocate for a cause that you care about!

Join us at 6:30 for a mixer with lots of local candidates for city council and school board! If you’re a candidate who’d like to be introduced during the mixer, email candidates@wowdems.org by 5 p.m. Monday, March 15.
