Serving on a board or commission in your town is a great first step to getting involved in local politics and learning about the process. Each city’s requirements and timeline for applying to be on board or commission varies, so check your city’s website for details.
For Plano residents, the application process is going on now through August 23. On August 22, there will be a reception to meet with the various Council and staff liaisons to the boards and commissions and it is highly recommended that you attend since the city council makes the appointments.
