Thursday Noon Forum on Voting Rights in Dallas

“The Voting Rights Act: What Now for Texas?” is the topic for a panel discussion about the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision invalidating Section 4 of the VRA and the potential effects on future elections in Texas, hosted by the Dallas Democratic Forum. So far, the panelists include Chad W. Dunn, General Counsel, Texas Democratic Party, and the always well informed Michael Li, election law attorney and author of the invaluable Texas Redistricting blog, moderated by SDEC member David Griggs. This should give us all a better idea where the tangled legal situation is headed.

This panel will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Belo Mansion, at Ross and Olive in downtown Dallas. The schedule is 11:30 AM for Registration/Buffet, and 12:00 Noon for the Program. It’s free for Patron & Sustaining Members of the Dallas Democratic Forum, $25 for Regular Forum members, and $40 for non-members. Please RSVP today by email to wdgriggs AT yahoo.com or by voice mail to 214-855-7151.
